Gary Alliss and Golf Monthly produced this video tutorial to execute a golf pitch shot that will stop upon landing. Gary Alliss turned golf professional in 1973. He has been coaching golf for the last 34 years and is currently the lead coach at The Belfry in Warwickshire, England. His simple common sense approach is legendary amongst his students. This is what intrigued me about this video. It is straight forward and very concise directions on how to execute and practice this golf shot. Gary insists this golf shot can be made each time if we strike down on the ball without de-lofting the club face. This can be done simple as A, B, C.
Pitch Shot Set up:
A) Holding The Top Of The Grip Is Inside Your Left Thigh
B) Open Stance Slightly To Rotate Your Body Through The Shot
C) Get About 60% of Weight On Your Left Foot
This video is filled with details on what to do and why. I can easily see how Gary Alliss as been in the coaching business for so long. I found this video very helpful for my game, I hope you do as well.
